Deborah's Story
UPDATE : I retired from Town council, when my term of Mayor ran out I said 18 yrs was enough. But I'm working for the town handling all the insurance. I'm still taking cancer treatments and not giving up. I'll be 61 in July and looking forward to Social Security in a few years. 5 yrs. ago our youngest son Terry was killed in a fire , he was the town's Fire Captian... Email me, love to stay in touch with school mates......When in High School my last name was Terry, I worked mornings in the school lunchroom and served meals. I had Bookkeeping 1 after lunch and English IV last class of the day. I'm not the year book of 1970 as I came to Waynesville to late in the year. Army and we were back in Waynesville for 6 months, then off to Junction City, Ks for 2 1/2 years. In that time we had 2 boys. Came back to Colorado and we are still here in the same town and house since 1980. We have 8 grandkids ages 14yr. to 2yr.
The years that we have live in Colorado I have been a newspaper stringer, and on town council since 1994 and still am. I have been Mayor for 3 terms and had to step down because term limits. I'm now Mayor Pro Tem.
I have been fighting cancer since 2005 and not giving up.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.

My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong.
